LINK UP MISSOURI INSTALLATION DISCOUNT

FOR LOW-INCOME SUBSCRIBERS

For qualifying low-income households, financial assistance is available to help with the  installation fees for new telephone services and discounts for your monthly local service fees.

The Link UP Missouri program is a Federal Lifeline assistance program designed to promote subscribership among low-income residential households.  This program provides financial discounts for the installation charges of a new residential telephone line.

The initial installation fees of a (new) main residential service access line is discounted at a rate of 50 percent, or $30.00, whichever is less.  This reduced charge is available only for a single residential telephone line per eligible household at the primary place of residence.   However, the discounted charges do not include assistance with any required security deposit, contributions in aid of construction or customer advances.  The premise at which the residence service is requested must be the applicant’s principal place of residence.  There can only be one telephone line serving the residence premises.

To be eligible for Link Up Missouri assistance, the customer must participate in one of the following programs:

1)      Medicaid

2)      Food stamps

3)      Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

4)      Federal public housing assistance

5)      Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

7)      National School Lunch program (NSL)

8)      Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance program

9)      Tribal NSL

10)   Tribal Head Start

11)   Annual income at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.  This must be accompanied by supporting documentation.
