Putnam County Fair - Other Livestock Events Pictures

            The Putnam County Fair is unique in our area in that we have several livestock
shows and events that are open to everyone. They are highlighted with these pictures
below. Don't forget about the wonderful 4-H and FFA livestock events also

Above: The Putnam County Fair Draft Horse Pull is one of the biggest around, with teams coming from several states. It occurs on Tuesday afternoon and is very well attended too as you can see. 


Above: The Open Bottle Baby Livestock Show allows youngsters (under 12) to get their feet wet showing.  It's one of our most popular events and you never know what the kids will say!


Below: The fair is for kids first and foremost. The barnyard animals display allow them to get close and personal with chicks, lambs and many other kinds of animals (like the donkey below).   

Below: Each year you can see hundreds of birds at the poultry show, the biggest show in North Missouri.  Chickens, turkeys, ducks and rabbits are a must stop for everyone to admire.  

 

Above: The Sheep Dog Trials have been a fair favorite for a lot of years. The coordination between master and dog must be very good to move these sheep. 
 

Above: The Sheep Lead Line his an chance to combine showmanship skills with wool outfit coordination. You won't want to miss it.  

Below: At the 2003 Fair a Beef Demonstration allowed youth and adults alike to see how to properly vaccinate cattle to keep meat quality high. It was done with Fort Dodge Vet's help.
