His family came from Chicago, Illinois. He had three brothers and one sister. As a child Walt liked to draw. Paper was hard to come by, so he drew on toilet paper with coal. By the age of seven he started selling his drawings to neighbors. Disney married Lillian Bounds on July 13, 1925. They had two daughters, Diane and Sharon. In 1927, sound was added to Walt’s motion pictures and color would be added later. His cartoon “Flowers and Trees” was the first cartoon in full color. In 1937, Walt made the first full-length animated film called “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. Disney later created many films such as Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Cinderella and many more. In 1955 Disney had created and opened Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Many of the attractions at the park are based on his creations. In Walt’s last years, he planned on making a big park in Florida, which is now called Walt Disney World. The Walt Disney Company carried on his work after his death.
