Putnam County R-1 Schools - "Creating Opportunity through Quality Education"  The Putnam County campus includes three buildings: Elementary (pre-K through 5), Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12).  The modern facilities, ranging in age from two to twenty-five years, include a 300 seat auditorium, Industrial Technology Lab, 21st Century Business Classroom, Education Plus Network (Interactive Learning), and career, writing and video production labs.  As a center for the community, Putnam County Schools is a place where lifelong learners are encouraged to utilize the facilities, professional staff, and progressive technology.   Follow this link for more information about our school's performance.

Numerous continuing education opportunities are available in the county.    Putnam County University Outreach and Extension, located in the Putnam County Courthouse, offers varied educational workshops, guidesheets, and other programs as an outreach from the University of Missouri. 

The Putnam County Library located on the east side of the Unionville square has an impressive selection of reading and listening materials.  It has an outstanding collection of geneology information.
