Schuyler County sits at the top of Missouri.
The third county west of the great Mississippi river and part of the Grand Divide between the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. Schuyler may be the second smallest county in Missouri, but certainly not second in friendly. The county people for the most part are farmers and local business owners. If you are coming through our area don't be surprised if there are many who may wave and smile at you as you pass them on the road. Mostly an agricultural area with fields of corn and soybeans, rolling meadows and pastures with grazing cattle, sheep, and horses. It makes for a pleasant drive through country.
If you are looking for attractions, you may be surprised with what can be found. We have museums, antique shops, craft shops, flea markets, golf course, fishing spots, trap shoots, polo field, town celebrations, and bluegrass festivals just to name a few. Our local businesses are run by friendly people with a "hello how are you! ," as you come in the door. Schuyler is rich with it's history, and many of the residents will be glad to tell you some very interesting stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. So come on by and say howdy!
