Thanks for stopping at
the Pastors corner, Our goal is to help you
grow spiritually in your walk with the Lord. Stop
by often as we will update this site regularly. Today I want to share
with you a thought from the word of God. I Samuel 17:45-46 Then
said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a
shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of This day will the LORD
deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I
will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air,
and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in
Israel. We are all familiar with the story of David and the giant Goliath, but for many of us we face giants in our life everyday, giants that seem to grow larger and larger and in our minds they seem to be unstoppable. Giants of fear, depression, finances, relationships and the list can go on and on. But we as born again believers need to stop and size up that giant and realize that he really, by the eyes of faith, is not that big. To the Israeli army, Goliath was too big to kill; to David he was just too big to miss. Life is really all about perspective. The army looked at Goliath from the hill top day after day and he got bigger each time that looked until they convinced each other that there was no way they could overcome him. David was new on the scene and heard him defile the name of the Lord and decided this boy had to go! He knew the power of God since he had already killed a lion and a bear, showing us that sometimes we need to revisit the victories that God has already given us and then go and face that giant in your life.
